The gym was new and had recently been fitted out. The clients required air conditioning systems to provide efficient cooling and heating all year round.
Our scope of works was to install inverter driven, energy efficient cassette systems, operating on the latest R32 refrigerant to serve each of the areas.
The gym is split into two training areas with a part wall separating between, both areas required temperature control
As the gym was new and had recently been fitted out, it was a requirement for the cassette units to be aesthetically pleasing.
Following a site survey detailed heatload calculations were undertaken for the project and suitably sized equipment was selected.
To serve each area, we selected and installed two ultra-efficient, cassette systems from the Daikin Sky Air Range operating on the latest R32 refrigerant. With a low GWP of 675, R32 refrigerant is F Gas Phase Down compliant reducing environmental impact by 68% compared to R410A, leading directly to lower energy consumption thanks to high efficiency and reduced refrigerant volume.
The single fan condensing units where installed externally within a purpose made security cage.
Each system provided 13.4kw of nominal cooling with a Seasonal Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 6.53.
To fit in with the modern look of the gym we upgraded the facia to the Daikin designer decoration panel with a white flat facade design. Control of the system was via the Maddoka controller with Bluetooth integration.
This project was designed and run by our Managing Director Nick Griffiths and installed by our in-house installation team lead by our onsite supervisor Daniel Bush.
Both systems were installed to the highest of standards and are performing well. The customer now receives regular maintenance visits from ICE.
