Air Conditioning Energy Assessments
TM44: Everything You Need To Know
It’s a legal requirement for buildings with air conditioning systems installed that have a total capacity higher than 12kW to have regular TM44 inspections.
Anyone who manages, or controls, an air conditioning system needs to fully understand their obligations under the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012, as amended in 2020 (the EPB regulations).
In short, there should be no longer than five years between each TM44 inspection.
The purpose of TM44 inspections is to help improve a building’s efficiency, reducing energy usage and carbon emissions.
A more efficient AC operation at your commercial premises not only means reduced carbon emissions; it also makes lower energy bills more likely.
